Exciting things in the works....

I am pretty excited at the moment, I have a lot of irons in the fire as far as projects are concerned… as I mentioned before I am working on a website for the cafe’s as well as a facebook and twitter page… And in order to do that I am learning to use this handy dandy Adobe Design Premium CS4 Program which is AMAZING! The things it can do!!!!! Oh the possibilities…. :)

On top of that, this little random thought that I had a month ago and posted to facebook has sparked some great brainstorming. What is this thought you might be wondering? Well I mentioned how I wanted to learn how to can… you know make my own jams, sauces, pickled goods and then preserve them…. yes again wanting to be Martha Stewart I know, but really whats new?!? Anyways, well a couple other ladies expressed interest in learning as well, and now we are having a canning party on Saturday! Well I couldn’t just let it go at that, so I began to design what started out as a packet of recipes that we were going to be covering so everybody could take them home, well as you know my ideas only get grander with passing time, so that turned into an actual cook book, which of course had to have a logo, and you had to have a name to go with the log and presto “The Ladies Who Can” were born with a book. And if that weren’t enough Tiffany (my fabulous teacher of gardening, canning and bread making) and I have been discussing all of this for a couple weeks now, and how much fun we have with all of our do it yourself projects, and how much we were looking forward to the canning project, and one thing led to another and we decided we needed to design a blog site to follow the adventures and or misadventures of our experiments! We spent a couple hours tonight working on it and will no doubt have it up and running very quickly!

On the broader side of things, I have been doing a lot of soul-searching lately, and I have come to realize that things really do happen for a reason… they happen in the order they are supposed to and we experience the things we must to make ourselves grow… and we meet the people we are supposed to meet along the way so we can learn, and its up to us to realize we have something to learn take advantage of that brief moment in time when our paths cross. I have found it all the more important lately to take a step back and take in what it is that is happening, the good, the bad and the ugly, because even though we must acknowledge the bad and the ugly it makes those moments of good 10,000 times better! So here’s to the friends that have crossed my path to teach me something and more importantly the friends that are running the distance exchanging life lessons, and sharing a shot or two or four when the ugly needs to be erased! ;) You know who you are, and I am blessed to have you in my life!
